Howard Stern Announces He’ll Be America’s Got Talent Judge

Howard Stern will be a judge on America’s Got Talent, he announced this morning on his radio show; Stern will join judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne, filling the vacancy left by Piers Morgan.

There had been some rumblings that Stern would join the judges’ panel of AGT, but somehow I never thought it would actually happen.

It’s not like he needs the money or the exposure.

To accommodate Stern’s SiriusXM radio program, America’s Got Talent will be moving to New York.

NBC’s president of alternative and late night programming, Paul Telegdy, released the following statement: “Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to ‘America’s Got Talent’ starting this summer. He’s a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable. Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.”

I, for one, can’t wait to see how Stern takes on the judging duties.

As he said on his show, “I take judging very seriously.”

Susan Boyle reportedly was to perform on last night’s America’s Got Talent results show, but instead left Los Angeles in tears when Lou Reed wouldn’t give permission for Susan to sing “Perfect Day.”

Susan Boyle had arrived in L.A. earlier in the day just for the America’s Got Talent appearance.

Producers needed Lou Reed’s permission for Boyle to perform the song, but were told at the last minute that he refused to sign off on it, because, it’s rumored, he’s not a SuBo fan!

America’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan told Access Hollywood: “I think there’s just some issue about the releasing of the Lou Reed song ‘Perfect Day. And ironically, it turned into an imperfect day… I’m really sad. I love Susan… She’s OK.”

Ten America’s Got Talent acts performed last night, America voted, and here is the AGT final four: Jackie Evancho, Prince Poppycock, Fighting Gravity and Michael Grimm.

The America’s Got Talent final 4 perform on Tuesday’s show; the winner announced on AGT’s finale show takes home $1 million and gets their own Las Vegas show.
