Laila Ali comments in Essence, “I don’t know yet if we are having a boy or a girl, but I’m excited that I have a life inside me that my husband and I created.”

This is Laila Ali’s first child, but the fourth for Curtis Conway, who has twin sons and a daughter.

Who even knew there was an “American Gladiators” spin-off in the 1990s called “Gladiators 2000?” And the bigger surprise is that a young Ryan Seacrest hosted the gig, which pits kids against one another in junior Gladiator challenges.

“Gladiators 2000” will air in syndication this fall – 39 episodes in all, which, according to a press release “challenges their [teens'] physical abilities as well as their knowledge of nutrition, fitness and the human body.”

American Idol host/radio host/E! News anchor/wonderboy Ryan Seacrest hosted “Gladiators 2000” when he was just 19.

While “Celebrity Circus” is a new series, it will be somewhat reminiscent of the old school “Circus of the Stars.” The latest NBC reality series will have celebs competing with the help of professional circus performers.

“Celebrity Circus” will air on NBC this summer – joining the summer reality lineup of “Nashville Star” and the second go-around of “American Gladiators.”

David Goldberg, president of Endemol USA (who will produce “Celebrity Circus) said, “Every week this show will bring big thrills and bigger entertainment to our audience who can look forward to some very adventurous television.”

NBC executive Craig Pletis commented, “This show will draw our favorite celebrities out of their comfort zone and into a stunning and magical circus environment that allows them to showcase their unseen skills.”

And speaking of “Circus of the Stars,” ABC will bring back a revival of the 1980s series and are currently (according to Variety) “in serious negotiations.”

The renewal is a big deal, considering just two episodes aired before the announcement that “American Gladiators” would be back for another season.

The premiere of “American Gladiators” was seen by 12 million viewers – the second highest ratings for any new series (“Terminator” was first). The show, a retooled update of the 1980s/1990s “American Gladiators,” will finish out its first season in February.

No word on when season two of “American Gladiators” will begin airing.

“Chuck” normally airs on Mondays at 8 PM, but with “American Gladiators” ruling the Monday slot, NBC has decided to shuffle “Chuck” on over to Thursday nights.

Don’t miss the remaining new episodes – both of which will air on January 24th – one at 8 PM and one at 10 PM (“Celebrity Apprentice” will air at 9 PM).

I’ve been missing “Chuck” star Zachary Levi on my TV, so I’ll take what I can get, but the least they could do is air the new episodes back to back!

The remake of the 1980s “American Gladiators” grabbed 12 million viewers, making it NBC’s highest rated new show premiere since “Heroes” in September 2006.

“American Gladiators” premieres January 10 at 9 PM (ET) with co-hosts Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali.
