Looks like I’ve got a whole lot of DVR recordings to catch up on — AMC has announced the renewal of “Breaking Bad” for a second season. I’ve got a stockpile of season one of “Breaking Bad,” which stars Bryan Cranston as a chemistry teacher who breaks into the world of crystal meth to earn money after being diagnosed with cancer.
“Breaking Bad” will air 13 episodes for the second season.
Rainn Wilson (Dwight from “The Office”) will host the Independent Spirit Awards this Saturday. You can catch all the action on IFC and AMC.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm is set to star alongside Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly in the big screen remake of “The Day the Earth Stood Still.”
This sci-fi classic has Jon Hamm playing a NASA official who creates a team of scientists (including Jennifer Connelly) for the impending arrival of alien Keanu Reeves. That’s one hot alien.
Jon Hamm is a Golden Globe nominee for his role as Don Draper on AMC’s “Mad Men.”

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) granted a waiver prior to the writers’ strike to allow Film Independent, the Spirit Awards organizer, to hire writers.
This morning, it was reported that “The Office” star Rainn Wilson will not only host the Spirit Awards, but will also be a co-writer for the event. Read the rest of this entry »
