Bob Saget’s reality series, “Strange Days With Bob Saget,” puts the actor and comedian in some intertesting subcultures – he joins a motorcycle club, hunts for Bigfoot, joins a fraternity at Cornell University and works as a camp counselor.

Kirstie’s goal is to lose 75 pounds. She says: “I think it’s stupid to say you’re full-figured…. you’re (expletive) fat!” And, “I hate being fat!”

Kirstie Alley’s Big Life follows her on her quest to lose weight (again) while raising two teenagers and taking care of eight ringtail lemurs.

Kirstie Alley says of the reality series: “This show has been cathartic for me…shown me who I really am…again. And it’s really freaking funny.”

Naturally, Kirstie Alley’s quest to lose weight will be front and center on the new show, as will her day-to-day life as a single parent.

A&E describes the show as showing Alley “producing a feature film, patenting multiple inventions, working hard to raise two normal Hollywood teenagers, taking care of eight ringtail lemurs and, on top of everything, looking for love.”

Why a new reality show for Kirstie Alley? According to A&E senior vice president for nonfiction and alternative programming, Robert Sharenow:

“Kirstie is exactly the kind of star A&E is drawn to. She is a multifaceted talent who connects with our audience on so many levels. Her personal life has been playing out in the media for years, but this will be the first time she’ll be opening up her home to reveal her real life for the cameras.”

A&E will air “Jackson Family Dynasty,” originally conceived as a one-hour documentary special before Michael Jackson’s death, as the first episode of the Jackson Brothers TV show.

No definite air date has yet been announced, but A&E plans to launch the Jackson brothers series this year.

Executive producer Jodi Gomes relays “Everybody wants to do a show that’s very genuine. They’re not shy about talking about their brother, they just want to find it a way to do it honestly.”

The Beast never really took off in ratings and Patrick Swayze was unable to promote the series when he was hospitalized with pneumonia and later revealed he had cancer.

A&E has not made an official announcement about the cancellation of The Beast, but sources tell Variety that the series is over.

A&E president and GM Robert DeBitetto told the audience, “Patrick has asked that I tell you that this morning he checked himself into the hospital for observation. Chemotherapy can take its toll on the immune system, and illnesses are a part of that. Patrick wishes me to tell you that he’s very sorry he cannot attend, but plans to get back to promoting ‘The Beast’ soon. He thanks everybody for the outpouring of support. We hope to see him back on his feet soon.”
