Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin to Host Oscars March 2010

The comedy gods have answered our Oscar hosting prayers – Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will act as co-hosts of the upcoming Academy Awards.

Steve Martin commented in a statement: “I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin.”

While Alec Baldwin commented: “I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars—it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Oscar producer Adam Shankman was more serious about Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin hosting the Oscars, noting, “Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event.”

Hugh Jackman Turns Down Oscar Hosting Gig

Who will be hosting the next Oscar telecast? It won’t be Hugh Jackman, that’s for sure.

Hugh Jackman, who did an excellent job as Oscars host last year, has turned down the gig, sources report.

No specific reasons were given for Hugh Jackman passing up the job, except that he didn’t want to do it two years in a row.

Who is your dream host for the Oscars? The Academy Awards will air March 7, 2010.

Beyonce’s Oscars 2009 Nipple Slip; Wardrobe Malfunction Pictures

Beyonce was the latest star to suffer a wardrobe malfunction – during the Oscars 2009 song and dance musical number, Beyonce flashed a brief nipple slip that no one even noticed during the telecast. You can bet Beyonce’s wardrobe malfunction pictures are making the rounds now, however.

I’m not sure you can even classify Beyonce’s Oscar nipple slip as NSFW because you kind of have to squint and turn your head sideways, but here’s the pic for your viewing enjoyment:

Anne Hathaway is rumored to be helping out Oscars’ host Hugh Jackman with an opening song/dance number at the 2009 Academy Awards – check out the Oscars video clip above for a look at the nominated films.

According to Life & Style, an insider has reported that “Anne [Hathaway] is rehearsing at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood today!”

Look for performances by Beyoncé, Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) and Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia!).

We have an Oscar host – and he just happens to be the Sexiest Man Alive to boot – Hugh Jackman will step in for hosting duties on the 81st annual Academy Awards on February 22.

Oscar producer Laurence Mark said of the Hugh Jackman taking on the gig, “He can hold the screen and he can hold a stage. It doesn’t hurt that he looks amazing in a tuxedo and he’s the Sexiest Man Alive.”
