Obama also talks about the nerves associated with such a mission: “As nervous as I was about this whole process, the one thing I didn’t lose sleep over was the possibility of taking bin Laden out… If I’m sending those guys in and Murphy’s Law applies and something happens, can we still get our guys out?”

As for the timing of the bin Laden mission, Obama shares, “I made the decision Thursday night, informed my team Friday morning, and then we flew off to look at the tornado damage. To go to Cape Canaveral, to make a commencement speech. And then we had the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night. So this was in the back of my mind all weekend.”

Obama also noted, “It was the longest 40 minutes of my life, with the possible exception of when Sasha got meningitis.”

Marilu Henner compares her memory to time travel: “I’m back looking through my eyes. Like I see what I was wearing the date of that first date that I randomly pulled out. … But I pulled it out and I know exactly what I was wearing and where we went to dinner and, you know, people would say, ‘Well, sounds like you’ve had a very exciting life.’ Even the most mundane things I remember. O’Brien criticizes Leno in the candid 60 Minutes interview, saying, “He (Leno) went and took that show back and I think in a similar situation, if roles had been reversed, I know — I know me, I wouldn’t have done that. If I had surrendered The Tonight Show and handed it over to somebody publicly and wished them well, I would not have come back six months later. But that’s me. Everyone’s got their own way of doing things.”

Conan O’Brien said he decided to leave NBC because the Tonight Show situation became “toxic,” with the realization that “I’m not sure these people even really want me here.”

Since Conan’s departure from the Tonight Show, he has been doing a national comedy tour and plans to return to TV again in the fall – with a new late night talk show on TBS.

As part of O’Brien’s exit agreement with NBC, he was prohibited from appearing on TV until May 1… but one day later, and he’ll be on 60 Minutes!

While Conan is not allowed to trash talk Jay Leno, 60 Minutes interviewer Steve Kroft says O’Brien “flirts with the restrictions.”

Ricky Gervais will be hosting the Golden Globe Awards on January 17.

Andre Agassi is promoting his new autobiography “Open.”

What do you think? Is Michael Vick a changed man? I don’t think he has as much remorse for harming/killing dogs as he does for his career suffering from the arrest.

Michael Vick says during the interview: “It’s wrong. I don’t know how many times I gotta say it. It was wrong and I feel tremendous hurt about what happened. I should’ve took the initiative to stop it all, and I didn’t. I feel so bad about that now, and I know that I didn’t step up. I wasn’t a leader.”

Sully Sullenberger told Katie Couric: “It was the worst, sickening, pit-of-your-stomach, falling through the floor feeling I’ve ever felt in my life. I knew immediately it was very bad.”

Katie Couric asked: “Did you think how are we going to get ourselves out of this?”

“No,” Sullenberger answered. “My initial reaction was one of disbelief.”
