“24″ Coming to the Big Screen: 24 The Movie?

Buzz that Kiefer Sutherland’s “24″ is coming to the big screen is gaining momentum, with news that Sutherland would like to star, executive produce and help write the script for a “24″ movie.

Of course, the movie version of the television series is dependent upon whether “24″ gets a ninth season or not.

The plan would be to bring 24 to the big screen once the TV series wraps up, so guess we’ll have to wait this one out and see if it’s a sooner or later project.

Kiefer Sutherland mans up after losing a bet over the weekend – appearing on David Letterman’s show in a dress!

According to Kiefer Sutherland: “I lost a bet. Over the weekend, I was so sure New England was gonna win that I told a guy who used to be my friend that if New England lost, I would wear a dress on Letterman.”

Too funny. And very pretty, Kiefer.

Season 8′s premiere of 24 will span two nights – tune in January 17 (9:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) and January 18 (8:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT) on Fox.

Couples news… Cherry Jones split up with girlfriend Sarah Paulson, but the break was amicable, according to Jones.

Rumors of a Cherry Jones split up started when Jones didn’t thank Sarah Paulson when accepting her Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Jones told Us Magazine, “We’re not together anymore, but we’re still dearest of friends.”

Cherry Jones, who plays 24′s female U.S. president, admits the split up is anything but sad, saying, “It’s the happiest break-up that’s ever been. We grew so much together and now we can send each other off with a kiss and great love.”

Casting News: John Lithgow Joins “Dexter,” Freddie Prinze Jr. on “24″

Dexter and 24 will get two new characters on their upcoming seasons – John Lithgow has been cast on “Dexter,” while Freddie Prinze Jr. is joining the cast of “24.”

John Lithgow is set to appear in all 12 episodes of Dexter’s fourth season – he’ll play ” mild-mannered suburbanite” serial killer Walter Simmons, a new nemesis for Dexter (Michael C. Hall)!

Dexter kicks off season 4 on September 27.

In other casting news, Freddie Prinze Jr. will join the cast of “24,” playing Davis Cole, “a recently returned Marine who runs CTU Field Ops and wants to follow in Jack Bauer’s (Kiefer Sutherland) footsteps.”

Kiefer Sutherland Charged with Misdemeanor Assault Over Headbutt Incident

It doesn’t pay to headbutt – yikes, Kiefer Sutherland was charged with misdemeanor assault over an incident earlier in the week where he headbutted fashion designer Jack McCollough.

The 24 star may be in deeper trouble than just the charge, however – Kiefer Sutherland is still on probation for a DUI conviction that he went to jail for 48 days for last year.
