Did Disney have any doubt that Camp Rock wouldn’t bring in a herd of viewers? Naturally, a sequel to Camp Rock (Camp Rock 2 has a nice ring, don’tcha think?) is in the works, starring the Jonas Brothers yet again. Hey, there are still a lot of Camp Rock stories to be told!
Camp Rock beat the original High School Musical in the ratings, averaging 8.9 million (HSM debuted to 7.8 million viewers), but didn’t come close to the knockout numbers High School Musical 2 rang up - 17.2 million for its debut.
No specifics on when the Camp Rock sequel will be released - a script is in development now though — but Disney is hoping to get the Jonas Brothers into production in late spring or summer 2009.
