Just two weeks ago, Saturday Night Live aired a Brittany Murphy SNL Weekend Update sketch – after news of her death yesterday, NBC and Hulu web sites pulled the video.

Obviously, at the time, Saturday Night Live writers and cast could not have known her life would be cut short, but given her death, the network felt it appropriate to take the video down.

In the Brittany Murphy SNL Weekend Update sketch, cast member Abby Elliott played Murphy, as the sketch show picked fun at rumors that Brittany was fired from the film “The Caller” and pegged her as a ditz who thought she was the host of that night’s SNL episode.

I did recall Brittany Murphy’s appearance on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (video clip above) from April of this year – something about Steven Wright pushing Brittany on a swing during the show opening was bizarre and hilarious. I just love her giggle and play with Wright.
