Seems Britney Spears’ family were not happy with Dr. Phil’s offer to dedicate a show to Britney’s problems. Britney Spears’ family is now apparently feuding with Dr. Phil.
The Spears family spokesperson/business manager, Lou Taylor, speaks out about Dr. Phil on the Today Show this morning (see video clip above).
Dr. Phil maintained that he visited Britney Spears at the request of her family. As you know, the show that Dr. Phil planned to air about the pop star’s problems was canceled.
While the family did ask for his assistance, the Spears family did not intend for Dr. Phil to make a public statement or attempt to use the situation for his show.
During the Today Show interview, the spokesperson said:
“What’s wrong with Dr. Phil’s statement is that he made a statement. The family, basically, extended an invitation of trust for him to come in as a resource to support them, not to go out and make public statements.
He was not invited to make this part of a public display or part of the media.”
Neither of Britney Spears’ parents wanted to do a Dr. Phil show and the family feels their was a betrayal of trust with the television doctor.

I couldn’t agree more. Dr. Phil should play a more supportive role in Britney’s situation instead of exploiting her situation.

Britney - leave the USA for a while where they’re trying to can your backside, and come to the UK. Book yourself into the Priory, and get yourself some help. Your need physical and emotional help. You’re tying yourself in knots, and people are taking advantage of it. For all your looks and lifestyle, you are still very young, very immature. Federline is not as pure as he likes to make out, but you are desperate, and it shows. Come get clean, and get to learn another way. Get some self respect - you’re absolutely beautiful and young, you don’t need to wear the kind of clothes these scumbag paparazzi have been catching you in, other than on stage. Come on Britney, get your life back, get your self respect back, make your kids proud in the future, and show Federline what you’re really capable of. No-one got as far as you did at such a young age, without talent.
