Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of VP wannabe Sarah Palin, gave birth to a baby boy yesterday – and named him Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.

Baby Tripp (that just doesn’t sound right) was born in Palmer, Alaska on Sunday, weighing in at 7 lb., 4 oz.

Bristol Palin’s grandma’s sister said of the birth, “We think it’s wonderful. The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited.”

Bristol Palin and boyfriend Levi Johnston plan to get married in 2009. He’s studying to become an electrician and Bristol is working on getting her high school diploma through correspondence courses.
