Better Off Ted Canceled? Star Jay Harrington Cast in NBC Sitcom Pilot

Well… frak. News that Better Off Ted’s Andrea Anders was cast in the pilot of Matthew Perry’s new show “Mr. Sunshine” seemed to indicate that “Ted” would be canceled.
Now comes word that Better Off Ted star Jay Harrington has also been cast in a new sitcom pilot – the NBC comedy “Nathan vs. Nurture,” Variety reports.
Jay Harrington would play a heart surgeon “who reunites with his birth father and underachieving brothers 35 years after his adoption.”
News of Better Off Ted’s cancellation has not yet been announced, but with Harrington and Anders being cast on other shows, the outlook doesn’t look great.
Jay Harrington tells EW.com, “I have had many conversations with [Ted creator] Victor Fresco, and we are both extremely hopeful that ABC will give us [another] shot, so we shall see. Please share my sincere gratitude with the BOT fans that have stuck with us.”
