Former Bachelorette contestant Julien Hug was found dead Wednesday in a remote area off Highway 74 in Riverside, California.

Julien Hug’s mysterious death follows Monday’s report that he was missing. Hug’s body was found two days later; his death is under investigation, with an autopsy scheduled for Thursday.

Julien Hug’s father, Bertrand, said that his son was on his way to help with the management of their family’s restaurant in Palm Desert.

Julien Hug was a competitor on the Jillian Harris installment of The Bachelorette.

Harris posted on Twitter: “Please say a prayer for the loss of a friend this morning. Life is fragile, don’t forget to love the ones you love.”
