Apple iPhone 3GS Announced; Available June 19

Among other announcements at Apple’s WorldWide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) today was the highly anticipated new iPhone – the iPhone 3GS. The S stands for “speed,” and offers up a host of new goodies.
The iPhone 3GS will not only be faster (Apple claims at least 2x’s faster for most apps), but comes with a 3 megapixel, auto-focus camera that can also capture video. The new iPhone also has voice control for not only calling contacts but controlling song playback as well. For instance, you can say “play more songs like this,” and iTunes Genius does just that.
The battery life of the iPhone 3GS is supposed to be better, plus there’s a handy digital compass – although I’m not entirely sure why you would want that.
The iPhone 3GS is priced at $199 for 16 GB and $299 for 32 GB – it will be available in the U.S. on June 19.
