I just knew that Anthony Edwards would return to the final season of ER! TV Guide is confirming that Anthony Edwards, an original ER cast member, signed a deal this week to reprise his role as Dr. Mark Greene in the November 13 episode of the show’s last season.

Only problem? Dr. Mark Greene died of a brain tumor in Hawaii in 2002! So, how will ER bring Dr. Greene back from the dead?

Look for Anthony Edwards’ character to appear in flashback scenes, which TV Guide is saying will “give insight into the past of Angela Bassett’s character.”

The Anthony Edwards-centric episode, called “Heal Thyself,” will shoot next week.
