This “ER” casting news isn’t too shabby — Oscar nominee (and Golden Globe winner) Angela Bassett will join the final season of “ER,” playing an attending with a “troubled past.”

“ER” executive producer John Wells commented, “Angela is a wonderfully talented actress whom I’ve long hoped to work with.”

Look for Angela Bassett on “ER,” beginning with the second episode of the final season. “ER” original cast member Noah Wyle will guest star for four episodes as well.
