Santa Monica Transit Says, “Ads For America’s Next Top Model Are Offensive To Women”

The eighth installment of “America’s Next Top Model” debuts Wednesday night on The CW….let the negative buzz begin.
Residents of Santa Monica, CA have demanded that ads featuring the contestants in bathing suits be removed from city buses, because they believed it was degrading to women.
S.M’s Director of Transit said:
“It’s a matter of public taste. We try to be sensitive to the community. Protests came from people concerned that the city was somehow endorsing a show that may objectify women. We wouldn’t want to do anything that would disrespect women.”
