American Idol Trading Cards Being Released

I’m wondering if even diehard fans of American Idol will be interested in the line of AI trading cards soon to be released. Seriously? Trading cards?
American Idol’s production company, FremantleMedia, and trading card publisher Upper Deck have developed a 138-card line of American Idol trading cards, featuring both past and current contestants and judges.
The American Idol trading cards will be available April 21.
Nora Wong, FremantleMedia senior manager of consumer products notes “With the trading cards, it’s an old school way of interacting with the fans. It’s another form of expression for the fans to demonstrate their connection with the show and collect their favorites.”
Even rejects have their place in the American Idol trading cards – who wouldn’t want the collectable William Hung card?
It’s likely a Brian Dunkleman card won’t be included in the series, however.
Check out the American Idol trading cards site for a preview.
