Josiah Leming, American Idol Reject
Well, well, well. Sounds like rejected American Idol wannabe Josiah Leming is displaying sour grapes about the show that wouldn’t have him. You may recall weepy Josiah Leming during the Hollywood round – no doubt gifted (and repeatedly mentioned to be living out of his car), but eventually passed on to make it to the top 24 finals. American Idol got him loads of attention and now, a record deal. But he’s not so grateful for the experience, it seems.

Josiah Leming calls American Idol a “glorified karaoke,” saying, “they pick people with pretty faces and the pretty voices, and they don’t let them write their own songs.”

Josiah Leming goes on to say that American Idol “lacks passion, it lacks emotion and it lacks the things that set an artist off from being good to being great.”

He also says that he did land a record deal with Warner Bros. Records and notes, “As everyone clearly saw, I poured my heart and soul into the process and into the competition. But looking back now, things could not have gone any better. Things happened perfect. I got the exposure. … People liked me, which was amazing, and I love my fans more than anything. I’m happy I didn’t make it. Looking back, it couldn’t have gone any better.”

So, not entirely biting the hand that fed him (exposure), but still ripping on Idol nonetheless.

I agree a pompous ass. You should hear the arrogant comments he has said on his myspace updates and VFTW.

I was a huge fan until I saw how he as nothing like shown on AI. He is rude, arrogant, cocky, a know it all.

Lately he has been screechy and off-key. He substitutes loudness, emotional expressions and actions (pulling his hair/tearful demeanor) and repeating verses in order to simulate passion as people say he is passionate performer. It is transparent.

He has repeatedly shown no gratitude to AI and said they had next to nothing to do with his success on myspace and VFTW. He is a good songwriter but his singing voice leave a lot to be desired and his attitude is horrible. Yes, I feel this is showing his sour grapes.
