Yes, there’s a little sorrow that goes along with the American Idol exit videos, but it’s also fun to pick out the song lyrics that accompany the exit video. Tonight, we were introduced to the exit song for the final 12 contestants — Ruben Studdard singing “Celebrate Me Home.”

Former “American Idol” champ Ruben Studdard sings “Celebrate Me Home,” a cover of a Kenny Loggins song, with lyrics that are, in part:

Please, celebrate me home,
Give me a number,
Please, celebrate me home
Play me one more song,
That I’ll always remember,
And I can recall,
Whenever I find myself too all alone,
I can sing me home

“Celebrate Me Home” was sung for the first time during David Hernandez’s exit video — no doubt we’ll be hearing even more of the song as the season goes on.
