American Idol Alum Clay Aiken Hits the Stage in ‘Spamalot’

All this “American Idol 7” buzz going on… but what about “American Idol” alums?
Season 2 “American Idol” runner-up Clay Aiken is making headlines today with this first picture of him in the Broadway show “Spamalot.”
Claymates rejoice! Clay Aiken begins his Broadway gig on January 18th, playing Sir Robin in the hit “Monty Python’s Spamalot.”
Clay Aiken told Newsweek that he “thought Monty Python was a person until three months ago.”
Clay Aiken also wasn’t much of a fan of the showing:
“The first time I saw it I thought it was the stupidest thing I’d ever seen in my entire life. My tour drummer is the Spamalot drummer, and [he] said you’ve got to see it again.”
Clay Aiken became a household name as the “American Idol 2” runner-up. Ruben Studdard won the second season “American Idol” competition.
