Oh.. the drama! Tonight’s February 4 American Idol 8 Hollywood Week featured round 2, or “Group Day,” and there were some doozies. Half of the show spent its focus on the conflicts between some of the group members.

Did the in-fighting have any impact on the groups making it through to round 3? Read on for the American Idol Hollywood round 2 recap.

We caught up with Tatiana (remember her with the mermaid dress at auditions?) taking charge of her group, then having a meltdown… then trying to switch groups and ultimately going back to her original group.

Next was a look at Rose, Lauren, Jasmine and Katrina (bikini girl), known as Team Diva. Seemed Katrina couldn’t take the heat (maybe she should have put on her bikini. snort!), and she went to her room crying.

We got a glimpse of Danny Gokey and his friend Jamar’s group, who seemed to be getting on swimmingly.

Nancy, Kristin and Headband boy Nathaniel weren’t getting along too well, with Nancy going off on Kristin and Nathaniel getting his drama queen angst/sobbing on.

Next day, Team Diva was missing Katrina so they paid a visit to her room, where her roommate says bikini girl isn’t feeling well. It looks like it’s the end for Katrina – did she quit? (Oh please, oh please!). Nope, she shows up at the 11th hour and her groupmates are PISSED.

Group Day auditions come and Simon warns “forget the words, you’re out!”

First up is White Chocolate – India Morrison, Matt Giraud, Kris Allen, Justin Williams

All get through to the next round

Next group – Maryn Azoff, Austin Sisneros, J.B. Ahfua, Shelby Swartwood, Julissa Veloz
“Get Ready”
They were a total mess, but the guys get through and the girls are cut.

Action Squad – Alex Wagner-Trugman, Ryan Pinkston, Anne Marie Boskovich, Emily Wynne-Hughes
“Don’t Stop Thinkin About Tomorrow”
Anne Marie and Alex make it through and Ryan said he saw evil in Paula’s eyes!

Danny Gokey, Jamar Rogers, Taylor Vaifanua decide to go a capella and take a risk
“Somebody to Love”
Simon thought it was very good
All made it through

Jeremy Michael Sarver, Adam Lambert, Matt Breitkze, Jesse Langseth
“Some Kind of Wonderful”
All made it through

Team Diva: Lauren Barnes, Katrina Darrell (bikini girl!), Rose Flack, Jasmine Murray

Bikini girl give lots of excuses (scoliosis and high heels!)
In the end, only Jasmine makes it through

By the way, the Osmond kid didn’t make it.

Tatiana’s group, which includes Muna Hiluf, are second-to-last.

Surprisingly, all made it through. I’m still scratching my head over that one.

You could cut the tension (or hate?) with a knife… Nathaniel and Kristin made it through though.
