Only two judges at a time critique to save on time, thankfully…

Allison Iraheta – sang “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith, from the film Armageddon – Paula said she’s a talented young lady; Simon said she is the girls’ only hope in this competition.

Anoop Desai – sang “Everything I Do” by Bryan Adams, from the movie Robin Hood – Randy said he found his zone and wsa rockin the house; Kara said he found his place and she felt connected to his singing.

Adam Lambert – sang “Born to be Wild” by Steppenwolf, from the film Easy Rider – Paula said he’s one of the bravest contestants ever; Simon said it was vocally incredible, but a bit like watching Rocky Horror Picture Show at times.

Matt Giraud – sang “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman” by Bryan Adams, from Don Juan DeMarco – Randy said he can’t do all of that stuff with the song and wasn’t one of his best perfomances; Kara said he took away some of the song’s core melodies.

Danny Gokey – sang “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross, from the film Endless Love – Paula said he pulled it together from midway to the end and it was a beautiful rendition; Simon said he can’t fault the way he sang it, but thought it was a very traditional version.

Kris Allen – sang “Falling Slowly” by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, from the movie Once – Randy said it never quite caught on for him and thought it was pitchy; Kara said it was one of his best.

Lil Rounds – sang “The Rose” by Bette Midler, from The Rose – Paula rambled about the great lyrics and the long road; Simon said she’s getting it completely wrong and found it too soft of a song.
