American Idol 7 Omaha, Nebraska Auditions: Hollywood Round (Video)
Tonight, “American Idol 7″ auditions hit the heartland – Omaha, Nebraska. Of the 10,000 AI hopefuls that came out to audition, 19 made it through to the Hollywood round.
Anyone else get miffed that they spend more time on the people who bomb the audition, only to catch a glimpse of the many “yes” candidates?
- Jason Rich, 21, Stout, Iowa – part-time farmer whose nerves almost cost him the audition
- Rachael Wicker, 23, Richmond, MO – arm wrestling champion; sang “Don’t Tell Me to Stop Lovin You” by LeeAnn Womack
- Samantha Sidley, 22, Los Angeles, CA - sang “Don’t Know Why” by Norah Jones, quiet personality but great voice
- Elizabeth Erkert, 19, Springfield, IL – no backstory, but sang “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” really nicely
- Denise Jackson, 17, Madison, WI – Simon enjoyed the audition
- Michael Sanfilippo, 19, South Barrington, IL – got an absolutely yes from Simon
- Angelica Puente, 17, Kenosha, WI – lives with grandmother; sang “Power of Love” by Celine Dion and although she was a mimic, the judges saw her potential
- David Cook, 24, Tulsa, OK – rocker with faux hawk; sang “Living on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi
- Leo Marlowe, 23, Charlotte, IA — last audition; sang “A Song for You” by Donny Hathaway
