No doubt about it, Michael Johns is the sexy black horse of the American Idol competition this year. He’s got the look – but more importantly, he’s got the voice to go along with it. Michael Johns has that sort of “it factor,” as Simon Cowell would put it. Michael Johns is a bluesy rocker – but he’s authentic too.

Michael Johns also takes risks and challenges himself vocally – proof would be his renditions of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” during Hollywood week as well as the Queen classics “We Will Rock You/We are the Champions.” It’s no small task to take on Freddie Mercury vocals and nail them.

Michael Johns will likely go far on American Idol 7. Does he have enough “it” to sail through and win it all? Maybe not… but this competition definitely won’t be the last we’ve seen of Michael Johns.
