Not sure how long Jason Castro will last in this competition, but it’s been a great ride having him here, hasn’t it? He really brings an honest quality to American Idol, with a really sincere “aw, shucks” kind of attitude that makes him seem like the nicest guy ever to compete on a reality show.

What’s really amazing is that little fanfare was made over Jason Castro’s backstory on American Idol – do you remember seeing his audition or even much of him during Hollywood Week?

No doubt the song themes will get more challenging for Jason Castro as the weeks go by, but he’s a total joy and the exposure will be good for his music career. And if it doesn’t help him find a career, we’re betting he’ll still be a nice guy.
