Renaldo Lapuz, of Reno, Nevada is the eccentric character of the night, dressed in a shiny silver cape, feathers and fur. With the big editing buildup, you know this one’s going to be off the charts strange.

Renaldo Lapuz didn’t disappoint in this strange “American Idol 7″ Dallas auditions video clip. Singing his own song (”I am Your Brother… Best Friends Forever”) and getting the judges and Ryan Seacrest in on the act… well, could we be watching the next William Hung?

I love this guy! He was all smiley and it rubs off on you and it makes you laugh. He’s not quite the next William Hung though. By popularity maybe, but this guy could really belt it out and sound good, whereas Hung got famous by being so horribly bad that he was funny.

I was shocked he didn’t get to Hollywood though – the judges seemed like they really enjoyed him. And we didn’t even hear what Randy and Paula said, it just ended with Simon’s decision and Renaldo heaping praises onto him. Overall, Renaldo’s a really cool guy. He has a really cheery aura/demeanor to him that rubs off on you.
