Alexis Cohen – American Idol audition contestant – was found dead, the likely result of a hit and run incident. Alexis Cohen was twice rejected during American Idol auditions and dubbed “Glitter Girl” for her sparkly makeup and clothing.

American Idol wannabe Alexis Cohen, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, was found dead early Saturday in Seaside Heights, New Jersey after being struck by a car.

Cohen was found lying in the street at Dupond Avenue and Bay Boulevard in Seaside Heights and later pronounced dead; investigators believe Cohen is the victim of a hit and run/vehicular homicide.

An autopsy was performed, but results have not yet been released.

Cohen auditioned for American Idol during the show’s seventh and eighth season and cited Janis Joplin among her influences.
