“The Neighbors” was a short-lived game show hosted by Regis Philbin. It had three women on the show who would answer questions about their real-life situations and it would touch upon various stereotypes about housewives. One segment was called, “Who Spread the Rumor?”. The question was, “Which one of you said that if they talked in their sleep, you would say, ‘Raoul, Raoul’ (Raoul being one of the ladies’ husbands)? One of the women would tell the truth and the others had to bluff. I found this show to be so odious, I wrote to the network at age 11 and complained. I wasn’t alone; TV Guide wrote an article about it after its cancellation called, “Malice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”.

I’m sorry to say this but i think wheel of fortune should be up there. All you’re watching is a bunch of players trying to spin a wheel, call out letters and solve the sentence( it ain’t a puzzle godamnit). I don’t know how players even manage to get a bankrupt, you can manipulate your spin, all you gotta do is see where it is and spin harder or softer than usual and you’ll get pass it. If you are good and the players you’re with really suck you can win all the money and they’ll never get to play. And the bonus round… oh my god, is the stupidest “puzzle” in the whole game. They give you the subject but over 90% of the time isn’t what you are looking for. “Thing is the category, the answer is asinine.” I guarentee you if i didn’t give you the word you still wouldn’t get it. You know what’s asinine? Wheel of Fortune.

Some of the worst game shows, in my opinion were the Cheap Show, and the New Treasure Hunt. The Cheap Show was intended to be “bad” and had its funny side to it, the gameplay being deliberately superficial in design. It could be one of those “so bad it’s good” shows. The New Treasure Hunt was a big bore except for the two brief periods where Geoff Edwards revealed the prize with elaborate skits that played on the emotions of the contestants. One more show to mention was Strike it Rich which appeared to exploit the plights of the down and out and which caused problems with poor people being stranded in New York after failing to get on the show.

I personally loved Dog Eat Dog, it was more fun then the overrated Survivor(which I REALLY wish would get cancelled already) I’m shocked no one’s mentioned “It’s Your Chance Of A Lifetime” yet, it was a very short-lived Milllionare knock-off on FOX(Where else?) only lasted for one week with 5 episodes before being cancelled, I only vaguely remember that show and it wasn’t all that interesting, some i’m too surprised it didn’t last long.

Loved Sale of the Century, even went on ebay and won a game. I was so happy, but wish there were a newer version of it. I also really enjoy the Singing Bee. I was disappointed when Melissa took over, but then I got used to her and love her now. I also really like Don’t Forget the Lyrics! I think Wayne Brady is so funny and talented. Why do they always change the host? I never missed Supermarket Sweep or Shop Til’ You Drop, Scabble or Dog Eat Dog. When I was younger I loved Legends, of the Hidden Temple. Still need game shows for all ages. I don’t understand this WORST list at all.

Hi the person who put the list together has no sense of history. Scrabble and sale of the century are classic. super Market sweep is a remake originally airing in 1965 on ABC. Most times the shows sited hear had format tweaks that hurt the shows in question. using celebrities instead of players to boost ratings. The 2000 remake of card sharks isn’t good, there was no wrisk element to it. Bad game shows are ones that exployt people or simply don’t build right. Trump card is an example of that. as for 1 VS. 100 make that a live show, and make audience members qualify to be in the mob, pick contestants from the surviving mob members for each new game, add a home play along component to it, and Voila!

I won’t go completely off the rails and say this list is terrible. I WILL say that Legends of the Hidden Temple is as awesome now as it was decades ago. The dorkiness, the fake legends, the moat intro that screened out the weakest teams, was all critical in making the show a delight for children, and still holds up today.
