It’s the countdown to the 2008 VMAs – at 9 PM, check out the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by Russell Brand with many of your favorite celebrity performers and presenters gracing the VMAs.

Britney Spears will open the 2008 VMAs, although no one quite knows what that means because her manager said she will not perform. Kanye West is set to close the VMAs.

Other performances include Christina Aguilera singing a special rendition of “Genie in a Bottle,” as well as performances by T.I. and Rihanna (”Live Your Life”), Jonas Brothers, Pink, Paramore, Lil Wayne, Kid Rock, and Katy Perry (singing “Like a Virgin”).
