Before starring on House, Hugh Laurie played George, the Prince of Wales on “Blackadder,” perfecting the art of making fun of and impersonating stupid rulers, or at least the stupid things they do. “I simply find easy to play stupid people.”
His current character, Dr. Gregory House, is not stupid. He is a little scary, mean, and very bitter and sarcastic, but “stupid” is NOT a word that I would choose to describe him. Despite his faults, he plays a doctor who most people just can’t help loving. While he wouldn’t necessarily be my first choice for a doctor, he makes for great entertainment. And below, are some of his finest moments.
The thing about cop shows is they‘re all the same. Bad guy kills someone. Cops/FBI Agents/CIA Officers try to find the bad guy as soon as possible before more people suffer.
My roommate’s addicted to them, but they just don’t interest me. My boyfriend suggested Life to me, and at first I watched it to humor him. Thing is, this one has a noticeably different twist.
Police Officer Charlie Crews (Damian Lewis), was wrongly accused of accused of a triple murder, and put away for life. Twelve years later information surfaces that he’s innocent, and he’s released.
He rejoins the force, this time as a detective (resurface typical crime story) who not only wants to solve crime, but wants to find out who really did it – and who framed him. Each week, he pieces clues together.
Recently, nude pictures of Vanessa Hudgens, 18-year-old star of Disney’s “High School Musical” surfaced on the internet. At first, Disney appeared to be standing behind their actress, but now Disney has officially decided to give Vanessa the boot. She will not be asked to return for the third of the High School Musical series. Instead, one of the Cheetah girls – either Adrienne Baillon or Sabrina Bryan (Dancing With the Stars) will be asked to take her place.
That’s probably a wise decision. I can’t imagine that parents would be too thrilled to go our and buy the film given recent circumstances. It’s a good move on Disney’s part – financially, but a part of me thinks they should have stood behind their actress.
Nick “Hogan” Bollea, son of Hulk Hogan and one of the stars of the reality TV show, “Hogan Knows Best” has been arrested on charges of illegal window tinting, third-degree felony reckless driving, a DUI, and underage drinking.
Nick broke an arm, some ribs, and injured his neck and knees. The passenger in his car, 22-year-old marine John Graziano who had recently completed a tour of duty in Iraq, is in a coma, and even if he comes out of it, he will probably need care fro the rest of his life. The Bollea family is supporting the Graziano family and raising awareness about seatbelt safety, as Graziano wasn’t wearing one.
Nick careened off a wet road and hit a tree while driving under the influence at 60mph in a 40mph zone. Even though he’s a 17-year-old minor, Nick is going to be tried as an adult. And he should be. His lawyers are, of course, “confident the evidence will demonstrate that this was an accident.”
Lots of people do things accidentally. Drinking and driving? That’s not an accident. Nick did turn himself in – but seriously Hogan, what have you been teaching him? And is it really best?
Oprah moves fast! On Friday she will have more than 100 family members for an Osmond family reunion, including Marie Osmond and her brother Donny. Last night, E! played Patrick Dempsey: True Hollywood Story.
The actor dished on what it’s like to be an actor in Hollywood, his big break, what life’s like now, and where he’s going from here.
He may be a famous actor – one of TV’s biggest stars – today, but you’ll never guess what he did before he got his lucky break. It involves balls, throwing and coordination… he was a juggler. I wonder if he wore a funny hat.
Grey’s Anatomy star (Dr. Derek Shepherd) wasn’t actually sure he’d get to where he is today for a long time. In the 80′s he was on the fast track, but when his career plateaued – to nothing – he married his manager (who was many years his senior). It wasn’t until much later that he tried again, and ended up where he is as “McDreamy.” He told E! News reporters, “Experiencing that cold shoulder in Hollywood is very difficult.”
For Grey’s Anatomy fans: Patrick says that this season might be ending around Christmas this season – depending on how long the Writer’s Guild of America strike lasts. That’s as far as their scripts go, so it’s all in the air. Grey’s Anatomy airs on Thursday at 9/8 central.
If you missed Patrick’s story, don’t worry, a one-hour documentary of Patrick’s life is playing tonight (Wednesday, November 7, 2007) on Biography at 10 pm ET.
Before Ali Larter became Hero Niki Sanders, who was she?
The Blond Beauty started modeling at age 13. Then, she moved to Los Angeles to study acting. Her first acting gig was a short one on “Chicago Sons.”
Her acting career grew quickly, while she made appearances on shows like “Dawson’s Creek,” and then landed landed a role in two movie roles in 1999, one as “Amber” in “Giving it Up,” and another as the brunette, “Dulcie” in “Drive Me Crazy.” To be honest, I didn’t realize it was her until I saw the cast list at the end of the movie. Phenomenal actress.
Of course, she also played “Brooke Taylor Windham” in “Legally Blond,” with Reese Witherspoon. She’s the rich celebrity (hmm) accused of murdering her husband for his money.
I think her best role, though is on Heroes, where she plays an incredibly strong former stripper with a son and a second personality – Jessica, so named after her dead sister. Personality issues go a long way towards making an interesting character.
Michael claims that the footage is not actually what it seems, and has been manipulated to look like a TV show proposition. He says, “Most of the footage was actually for a promotional video I was doing for Teen Challenge.”I guess we’ll see.
