“Secret Diary of a Call Girl” Comes to Showtime
The British comedy “Secret of a Call Girl” will be making its American debut on Showtime in spring or summer 2008. The series takes a look at Hannah (played by Billie Piper), a legal secretary by day and high priced call girl (named Belle) at night.
Showtime Entertainment President Robert Greenblatt said, “Initially we thought we should make an American version of it, but we fell in love with the original episodes, were captivated by Billie Piper’s Belle, and decided to bring it to Showtime as is. American audiences will be transfixed by the series poignant, sexy comedy meets drama elements and the series will fit in perfectly with our line-up of original programming.”

Hahah, this series is awful! It glamourizes prostitution and was only greenlit because “hot property” Billie Piper agreed to get her kit off (well, sort of). The target audience should just trawl the web for the “naughty” bits, while everyone else with any sense will steer clear.
