While the six-episode spin-off of “Heroes” — titled “Origins” — has been put on hold, NBC.com is offering up a way for fans of the series to get involved. “Create Your Hero” is a new feature on the site that allows users to vote for the attributes that make a perfect hero. Each week provides different categories to choose from, so the new “Heroes” character evolves over time. The new character’s evolution will be featured during commercial breaks of the series, with the final character revealed next year.

“Heroes: Origins” was a similar concept, allowing viewers to place their vote online for their favorite new character – the most popular of the “Origins” characters would appear on “Heroes.” The series, however, was scrapped due to the writers’ strike.
